Takeover of Richter Aluminium GmbH
Effective 30 November 2015 the von Salmuth family will take over Richter Aluminium GmbH in Schutterwald/Offenburg, one of the most modern German extrusion press plants in Europe.
Under the new owners Richter Aluminium GmbH will continue to operate independently on the market. In Schutterwald 100 employees produce high-precision and complex aluminium extrusions according to customer specifications on two state-of-the-art extrusion press lines with 25 MN and 45 MN pressing capacity. They also have specialised equipment available for carrying out further processing work. The company generates revenues of around 50 million euros.
"With the von Salmuth family I'm very pleased to have found the right medium-sized owners with branch experience, who will secure the future of Richter Aluminium GmbH in the long term," says a pleased Ludwig Richter, founder and owner until now. Mr. Richter will leave the board of management, but will continue to participate in the company in the capacity of an advisor in the future.
"We firmly believe in the semi-finished aluminium products industry in Germany as production location," says Johannes von Salmuth on the occasion of the presentation of the new owners to Richter employees. Together with his cousin, Gebhard von Salmuth, they run the aluminium processing companies of the family. The von Salmuth family has been active in the aluminium industry for more than 100 years. Their ancestor Count Giorgio Giulini is deemed to be one of the most important pioneers of the European aluminium industry. Following the Wutöschingen AG & Co.KG aluminium plants and König Metallveredelung GmbH in Lauchringen, Richter Aluminium GmbH is the third investment the von Salmuth family has made in the aluminium industry. Apart from that, the family is involved in the plastics industry through the Mannheim Röchling Group.
