Sapa sells HatiCon to Mounting Systems GmbH
Sapa has sold its HatiCon operations to the German company Mounting Systems in Rangsdorf. HatiCon produces and sells mounting systems made of aluminium for the solar industry. The HatiCon brand and the associated administration, management and infrastructure functions will initially continue to operate in their existing structure.
“The joining of Mounting Systems and HatiCon is an opportunity to establish a strong and competitive player in the photovoltaic and solar thermal industry,” said Karsten Lundgaard, executive vice president and head of Sapa Building Systems. Sapa supplies aluminium solutions to customers in the solar industry around the world. However, HatiCon was the only Sapa division which had supplied products to the solar industry as independent brand. “In future Sapa won’t be active in this industry with its own brands anymore, rather as supplier of aluminium extrusions for companies such as Mounting Systems and HatiCon,” continued Lundgaard.
For more than 20 years now Mounting Systems has been developing and producing mounting solutions for photovoltaic and solar thermal systems. With its purchase of HatiCon, it continues its path of growth on the national and international level. “The union of Mounting Systems and HatiCon is a significant milestone for our company,” said Stefan Spork, managing director of Mounting Systems. “With the takeover of HatiCon we are gaining a further nine years’ know-how in the area of mounting solutions for the solar industry, especially for rooftop applications. This is a crucial step for the further growth of our firm. It fits perfectly into our product range and our range of services,” continued Stefan Spork.
Mounting Systems looks after local customers with its sales and production located in West Sacramento, California, and sales offices in Great Britain, France and Japan. The main office and production locations of HatiCon can be found Pinnow, Germany. HatiCon employs approx. 100 workers around the world.
