Whether for facades or roofing, for years metal has been the tried and tested material which architects and planners have depended on. Coloured aluminium in particular is often used for innovative and modern building cladding. As provider of building cladding systems, Boehme Systems is now adding a special surface reminiscent of a leather texture to its existing assortment of shingles.

These aluminium shingles from Boehme Systems obtain their new, attractive look from a special textured paint: So the three standard colours (red, grey, brown) of the provider of building cladding systems are now optionally available with a nubuck finish. Not only does it have a special appearance, but it is also scratch and abrasion resistant. The final finish is reminiscent of a leather texture and is special because of its scratch and abrasion resistance. Moreover, the shingles are rated as fire protection class A1, so they are also suitable for use in and on buildings which are subject to strict fire protection regulations.

Already during its manufacture, the aluminium for the shingles is painted using the coil coating process. First the primer is applied and then the textured top coat, to achieve a coating thickness of 25 micrometers. The alloy, the mechanical properties and the paint system are designed with further finishing and creasing in mind, so the raw material lends itself very well to the manufacture of shingles.
