EAC 2019 – programme and registration are online

The official programme for the EAC European Aluminium Congress 2019 on the theme of "Aluminium & Mobility" is now complete and registration is now open for those who would like to participate in EAC 2019.

The EAC 2019, to be held on 25-26 November in Düsseldorf, is being organised by the GDA, the German Aluminium Industry Association. The GDA is stag-ing EAC 2019 within the framework of "D-A-CH, Alliance for Aluminium", in cooperation with the Swiss Aluminium Association (alu.ch) and the Austrian Non-Ferrous Metals Federation - Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO).

Hardly any other sector has a greater need for change than the field of transport. CO2 emis-sions are at the heart of government regulations and are driving technological change – whether it be in the automotive industry, aircraft construction or local public transport. Digi-talisation will significantly change both the mode of transport itself and its use. There are many highly attractive systems that are already competing with each other in urban areas, and this development will continue to gain momentum. It is important for our industry to ac-centuate the benefits of our metal further and remain the winner in the transformation pro-cess.

For this year’s EAC top-class representatives from the automotive, aviation and aluminium industries, from universities and research institutes and from mobility start-ups could be attracted, who will report and discuss the future of mobility systems, the requirements placed on materials and designs and the opportunities that aluminium has to offer.

On the first day of the congress, the opening speech by a representative of the European Commission will highlight the political framework for future mobility. Keynote speeches will then shed light on the change from an entrepreneurial perspective. A high-level panel dis-cussion, with representatives from the aluminium, aviation and automotive industries and a mobility start-up, will round off the first day.

The second day will be dedicated to four sessions: Automotive/Transport, Processes/Heat Treatment/Joining, Surface/Additive+Digital Manufacturing/Recycling and Markets. In every session, renowned experts from international companies will make presentations and provide practical examples.

All presentations will be translated simultaneously into German or English. Further infor-mation about the congress, the accompanying exhibition, registration and hotel booking can be found on our congress page.
