The Bayer process used for the treatment takes centre stage in the film. aluMATTER is an educational, interactive, modular e-learning course covering the metallurgy of aluminium that is accessible free of charge via the Internet.The course was developed jointly with the European Aluminium Association (EAA), the European aluminium industry and numerous European university institutes as well as the University of Liverpool; it is intended for use in the training and further education of students at technical colleges as well as engineers working in industry.
