Turnover
The aluminium industry had a turnover of about 10.1 bn euros in 2009 (2003 = 13.1 bn euros). More than two-thirds of the turnover was attributable to the producers of raw aluminium and aluminium semi-finished products; companies involved in the further processing of aluminium accounted for some 2.7 bn euros in 2009.
Exports account for over 40% of turnover and are important for the German aluminium industry.
