20.11.07 The winners of this year’s Aluminium in Renovation Award competition have been presented with their prizes and certificates: not just for the German/Austrian national contest but also for the European competition. Two architectural practices are celebrating awards for their contributions: Constance-based Biehler Weith Associated Building Design Projects (winner of the “Residential” category for Germany/Austria) and Gärtner + Neururer ZT GmbH from Vöcklabruck, Austria (winner of the “Non-residential” category not only for Germany/Austria but for Europe as well).

The manufacturers of aluminium packaging produced 397,201 tonnes of aluminium foil, tubes, flexible packaging and aerosol and beverage cans and thus exceeded the already high level of the previous year by 9.8% (2005: 361,694 t).

15.01.07 The Düsseldorf-based trade association Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V. (GDA) will be presenting its current range of products that provide teachers from all types of school with information on aluminium at the education and training trade fair in Cologne from 27 February to 3 March. Interested parties can view the items on offer at Stand B39 in Hall 10.1, where GDA’s experts will also provide them with more information about the metal, the aluminium industry, plant visits and the programme of practical training.
