08.12.06 German manufacturers of tubes and aluminum aerosol cans are pleased with the robust demand for their products in 2006. With new orders in the industry growing by 2% to 9%, capacity utilization is from good to very good. Laminate tubes can be delivered in 6 to 8 weeks depending on the specifications; plastic tubes in 10 to 16 weeks; and aluminum tubes and aluminum aerosol cans even take 10 to 20 weeks.

30.11.06 The German aluminium industry welcomes and supports the declaration on recycling principles issued by the international metals industry. According to Stefan Glimm, managing director of the Düsseldorf-based trade association Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie (GDA), “Stipulating the recycled content of new products is too short-sighted and can, in the case of a functioning scrap market like the one that already exists for aluminium, actually lead to misguided developments.

As Christian Wellner, Executive Director of the Düsseldorf-based trade association Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V. 17.08.06 In October this year, GDA – Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V., Düsseldorf, will hold its now traditional seminars on the subjects of the technology of extruded aluminium profiles (11 October 2006) and the surface treatment of aluminium (30-31 October 2006). Well-known experts from industry will lecture the seminar participants under the leadership of Wolfgang Heidrich, GDA’s specialist for mechanical engineering, and Werner Mader, GDA’s specialist for surface technology.

Deliveries in the first quarter of 2006 rose by about 9 % thanks to a rather vivid exports business leading to a good and partly excellent capacity utilization, Demand of the cosmetics and food industry increased, while deliveries to the pharmaceutical industry took a breather.
