alugraphics, a metal processing company based in Freiberg, Germany, is now paving the way for increased use of aluminium in the office. It has developed a mouse pad series that can be tailored to meet a customer’s specific requirements and turns the pad into a small work of art or a sought-after collector’s item.

Thanks to its properties, aluminium is ideally suited for mouse pads: it is smooth, tough and light. Mouse pads are an ideal and lasting vehicle for image and product advertising. Personalised with a corporate design, they fulfil their purpose: addressing customers and winning them over. They imprint a company logo or selected motif rigidly in a person’s capacity to remember images and in doing so convey virtues such as quality and indestructibility.

As the company puts it, the process is like a tattooist indelibly impregnating the desired motifs into the oxide layer on the aluminium. There are no problems with unevenness, flaking, fading or even hand perspiration. The anodised, scratchproof surface is as hard as sapphire and ensures the mouse can function perfectly. Accurately milled edges, an ergonomic shape and reliable adherence to the desk facilitate working with Mac or PC peripherals. The aluminium pads are impervious to UV irradiation, the elements, and mechanical or chemical influences. Complete development and production of the aluminium pads as well as stringent in-house testing is carried out in Freiberg.
