An aluminium beverage bottle produced by the Ardagh Group together with the star designer Jean Paul Gaultier has received the renowned 2012 Starpack Award.

The exclusive, curving designer aluminium bottle, produced for Coca-Cola, won against strong competition from throughout Europe: “A wonderfully contoured aluminium bottle, a fantastic design and top notch print. This unique, lightweight bottle with its wonderful graphics and iconic shape associates the artistic force of a design legend with a major brand; it's eye-catching and it's even recyclable,“ commented the jury. The design of the bottles combines beauty with the feather-light form of aluminium. The solid white base coat provides a premium surface for the high definition offset print, so the appearance is optimal. The flesh-tone coloured background is a critical design element for achieving the unique character of the bottle.

The bottle of Jean Paul Gaultier was manufactured by Boxal in France, a specialist for technically demanding aluminium containers. At the beginning of 2012 Boxal was taken over by Ardagh. The company is the global market leader in the area of hard packaging and the production of metal and glass packaging solutions for numerous food, beverage and consumer goods brands.
