GDA to inform about jobs in the aluminium industry at the 12th international CAR Symposium in Bochum

Car Symposium Bochum 2012
23.01.12 -
On 8 and 9 February GDA will be informing about jobs in the aluminium industry at the 12th international CAR Symposium in Bochum. The CAR Symposium is divided into a career day on which companies and associations will present themselves to students, with information on what they are offering in the way of internships and diploma theses. On the second day, under the heading of “Scenarios for the automobile future”, in brief presentations companies will inform about subjects such as e.g. “materials and lightweight construction“, “electric mobility”, “the innovation field automotive engineering” or also “automobile services and after-sales”.

Aluminium and automobile manufacturing have been inseparably linked to one another since the industrial manufacture of aluminium began, and for years the transportation sector has been the biggest buyer market for aluminium products. This market segment has always been a leader in the development of new alloys and products, which means there is a considerable demand for research and development work, with a similarly high demand for engineers. In order to give this demand the respect it deserves, at the 12th CAR Symposium GDA will be informing about job opportunities in the aluminium industry and potential of the lightweight material.

Professor Dr. Joachim Deppe, Vice President Human Resources & Organisation, Hydro Aluminium Rolled Products GmbH will make a contribution to the portrayal of the aluminium industry by giving a brief presentation on career opportunities in the aluminium industry, taking Hydro in Germany as example. In addition Wolfgang Heidrich, officer for transportation and mechanical engineering at GDA and Anncathrin Wener, officer for publicity work at GDA, will be available on the career day to answer students’ questions on the subjects of aluminium and the aluminium industry.
