Fire resistance with aluminium profiles

Schüko
02.01.12 -
Fire-resistant facades are used for protection of fire zones at building corners. The aluminium system manufacturer Schüco from Bielefeld, Germany offers various systems on one platform, whose appearance cannot be distinguished from standard facades. A new product in the range is the aluminium fire-resistant facade system Schüco FW 50+ FR 60. It has been tested for use as EI60 and EW60 fire-resistant facade in accordance with EN 1364-3 up to a storey height of 4 m. In Germany approval is necessary in individual cases.

The system is based almost entirely on the Schüco FW+ BF fire-resistant facade, for 30 minutes of fire resistance. With face widths which are identical to the standard facade Schüco FW 50+, and the concealed transition from fire-resistant to standard facade, they offer the developer maximum planning freedom together with the required fire resistance properties.

The multifunctional fire-resistant facades FW 50+ BF and FW 60+ BF in 50 or 60 mm face width are for universal use for vertical facades and skylights for the fire resistance classes F30 and G30. Both systems can be used without any problem to bridge storey heights of up to 5000 mm. Corner constructions of 0° to 15° are possible with only one mullion, while corner constructions of 90° to 180° can be realized with 2 mullions. When used in gable or monopitch roofs it is possible to elegantly achieve demanding skylight constructions with the systems. Additional options are possible with the installation of fire-resistant windows and doors from the systems Schüco AWS 70 FR 30 and Schüco ADS 80 FR 30 (approval necessary in individual cases) in the F30 fire-resistant facade.
