Erbslöh Aluminium expands foundry
17.10.11 -Erbslöh Aluminium GmbH in Velbert, Germany, is expanding the high purity alloy melting plant which was built in 2003. A new works hall and foundry will be built for 15 million euros at Siebeneicker Straße. The construction work for this has been in full stride since June 2011. The former smelting plant with an annual capacity of 16,000 tonnes cannot cover the increased demand anymore, so an expansion of capacity is unavoidable.
With an output of an additional 22,000 tonnes this doubles the capacity of the foundry area of Erbslöh Aluminium GmbH. 15 additional employees will then run the plant, which is being built specifically for the Velbert company according to the newest technological standards. In terms of energy consumption the new foundry area will save a fifth of the costs; here the cost of energy makes up for a total of roughly three per cent of turnover.
In the extrusion process downstream from the foundry the round bars will be processed on six modern extrusion presses into profiles with close tolerances, usually with high demands on their surfaces.
