An aluminium car for children over six years old

Morgan Three Wheeler Super Sport Junior
09.03.09 -
It is something to make the hearts of classic-car fans beat even faster: Morgan introduced its first motorcar, the Three Wheeler, in 1909 and now, 100 years later, the British company is celebrating the car’s centenary by planning to introduce a limited remake edition of 500 units – made completely from aluminium.

The so-called ‘Supersport Junior’ is being offered as a pedal car! It will be produced alongside regular Morgan models, which incidentally are also made mainly from aluminium. Optically the pedal car resembles the original version very closely. But the size of the remake differs from the 1909 model: the pedal car is only a 2/3-scale replica, two metres long and 1.10 metres wide.

The trike comes equipped with three-speed crank and hand-stitched leather interior. The Supersport Junior is aimed at 6-13 year old drivers, although Morgan has already admitted that the limited edition of 500 pedal cars could become a collector’s item in years to come.

Production is due to begin in August 2009, but is dependent on firm orders for over 200 vehicles having been received. The price of the Supersport Junior will be the equivalent of about 2800 euros plus VAT and delivery; choice of colour and leather interior will cost an additional 280 euros plus VAT.
