Aluminium demand worldwide
The worldwide demand for aluminium decrease 7.8% or 3.7 Million tonnes in 2009 compared with the previous year.
This is due to the development in America (-13.2% or -1.5 Mio tonnes). Also in Europe the demand decrease about 25% or -3.1 Mio tonnes tonnes. In contrast Asia recorded a growth in demand (+3,6%) in 2009. Rest of the world demand stagnate in 2009 on previous yaer level.
Over 30% of the aluminium used came from recycled aluminium products.
